It acquired its latest name, Ben Gurion International, in 1973 in honor of Israel’s first Prime Minister, but is almost universally referred to by its Hebrew acronym: Natbag (Nath-bag), which stands for Namal Te’ufah Ben Gurion (Ben Gurion Air Port).
